I hold a degree in Electronic Engineering, with a Specialization in Digital Technologies, and one in Computer Science, with a Specialization in Industrial Computer Science. First, I learned how to build a computer, then how to program it :) I’m self-employed and freelance since 1997.

My career started in a R&D department, were I was responsible for the design and the development of a remote surveillance and access control system (SCADA – Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) with internet access at ISDN speed and new brand technologies to transmit live images over slow-speed data lines. I designed hardware, worked in assembler, analyzed protocols, wrote system drivers and developed advanced GUIs using C++.

Then, my projects became more “classic” – data management applications written in C++ on PCs, communicating over the internet with UNIX servers developed in C. Beside of this, I kept projects involving more industrial processes like Remote-SCADA, Dallas Semiconductor Touch Memories (ancestor of RFID chips), Mantax digital calipers and more funny things.

By and by, I left the hardware domain and concentrated entirely on software development, traveling from the C++ “Old World” to the new Java continent. After years enjoying XML configuration files with Struts, Hibernate, Spring and J2EE applications, I finally specialized myself in Java EE 6 applying my many year of industry experience as Software Architect.

Today, I work as Information Systems and Java Enterprise Applications Architect, as Technical Manager, as Java Developer (continuing coding as software architect is a priority to me) or as Trainer, having my main emphasis on Java Enterprise Edition 6 and modern (non-Java) front-end technologies. Occasionally, I speak at conferences. My languages are English, French and German.
